
Founded by Lou Duggan in 1971 Armor has
grown into a full service professional employment organization.
From a 400 square foot office with two employees in 1971
to 8 offices in Brampton, Mississauga, Meadowvale,
Etobicoke,
Vaughan, and most recently Burlington and Hamilton.
Armor employs more than 70 core staff and
is responsible for the employment of thousands of people
each year. Establishing a reputation in the greater Toronto
area business community was one of Armor's primary focuses.
Involvement in various community organizations has earned
it a reputation for commitment, integrity and honesty.
“Today, tomorrow, a decade from
now, with an economy in flux and confronted with an ever-changing
multi-cultured and highly legislated work environment, corporate
success will only occur when the “hire and hope”
approach to recruitment and staffing is completely eliminated.”
Those are Lou’s words and the foundation of how Armor
creates, evolves and supports every one of their clients.
Hire and hope does not have to be any employer’s reality
and Armor is here to ensure that it isn’t.
Our Founder on Change:
Business leaders must become Champions of Change if we are
going to meet the challenge of today’s – and
tomorrow’s world of commerce. Many companies are redefining
the ways their organizations do business. A move to outsourcing
or partnering sees organizations concentrating on their
core business while eliminating activities that dilute focus.
The concept of partnering is not new. In 1971, I formed
Armor and although it wasn’t called partnering at
the time, we formed relationships with companies which allowed
us to provide a pool of manpower to assist them with fluctuations
in business activity. We also recruited support and key
staff for these clients.
In many cases firms play a game of Russian
Roulette, “well, let’s give this person a try”.
Today and in the future, in an ever changing, multi-cultured
and highly legislated environment, following a “hire
and hope” approach to recruitment and staffing is
a sure failure.
Armor has and continues to invest in systems,
programs and training to ensure that we remain at the forefront
in staffing services. Through our on-premise system, personality
profiling benchmarking and comprehensive human resource
management system, we are constantly evolving to support
and enhance our client’s success. Armor is a resource
